Growing and Processing Industrial Hemp in Europe – Latest Trends and Developments.

The lecture summarizes latest developments regarding the industrial uses of hemp in Europe (in world context) and its impact on current situation in the Czech Republic. We will talk about main growing regions and markets as well as discuss various approaches to growing, harvesting and processing hemp in European countries. Furthermore, we will present an overview of currently used harvesting techniques and related technologies. Specific experiences and current developments in the Czech Republic will be mentioned too. The main sources for the lecture are: the conference of European Industrial Hemp Association (EIHA), Hemp Building Symposium of International Hemp Building Association (IHBA) and author´s own long-term experience of cannabis activist in the Czech Republic.
