Autoflowering
Autoflowering
Autoflowering cannabis seeds start to flower automatically when they reach a given maturity, regardless of photoperiod. From morphological point of view autoflowering seeds are hybrids between Cannabis ruderalis and Cannabis indica and/or Cannabis sativa. As mentioned above, they start to flower automatically compared to Sativa and/or Indica which need a reduction of sunlight in order to start the flowering period, whereas autoflowering seeds simply start flowering when they reach a given age.
New Era of Growing
Autoflowering cannabis seeds are on the market for a good few years, but their popularity has skyrocketed just recently due to significant improvements of main breeders and seedbanks (stability, resistance to molds, better taste and higher cannabinoid content).
Grown outdoors, these varieties can produce two or even more harvests in the course of a normal summer. Under artificial lights indoors, they are capable of going from seedling to full maturity in as little as ten weeks.
These plants never grow too tall which means they are ideal for decent cultivation on balconies and in gardens where two meters tall plants could attract unwanted attention.
